I often roam the beaches and intercoastal waterways (on my dinghy) in southwest Florida in search of inspiration for my paintings. One morning I came upon a scene that inspired Rising Tide by David K. Griffin. As the tide was rising, pools of reflective sea water were forming on the beach, low light from an early morning sunrise and overcast clouds presented a palette of grays with just a touch of blue on the horizon - this scene, both serene and dynamic gave me the idea to make a series of paintings that are inspired by and depict the rise and fall of the tides. This is the first in that series.
Notice that two, 8" x 24" canvases are butt to create a "super horizontal" format painting. Professional quality gray "weathered" frame and white liner makes this a stunning presentation
